THE TRADERS BANK OF CANADA. 1891-1893. Yonge St/Colborne St. A large bank building. The rarest brass Canadian savings bank. Four slots along the top for different depositors. End door with inner metal coin box included. This example is in pristine condition, with all finials intact, and includes the original lock key. Also included in the lot is a post card depicting the original bank building located in downtown Toronto, and a ‘Good for $1.00’ cardboard token. The token was presented to depositors upon return of the savings bank as a credit and is quite rare. Similar banks have sold between $3,750.00 and $5,000.00.
